Frequently Asked Questions

I was hit by someone else…Now what should I do?

If you have been involved in an accident, it is important to make sure everyone involved is physically okay. Afterward, we can help arrange transportation for you if your vehicle is not drivable. You should try to get the other person’s contact and insurance information as soon as possible and bring that information with you when you come in for an estimate. We will explain the rest of the process when you arrive.

I hit someone else…Now what should I do?

You are responsible for the other person’s damage, but you have the right to pay for their repairs (and your own) out-of-pocket. You may want to get an estimate on both vehicles before deciding how to pay for the damage.

What is a direct-repair shop?

A direct repair shop is a facility that works directly with your insurance company as a preferred shop. Auto body shops earn the right to be a preferred facility by meeting certain criteria. Included in these requirements are certified technicians, a record of excellent workmanship and satisfied customers, and proper equipment. A preferred shop writes the actual estimate, orders parts, and repairs the vehicle without an insurance adjuster being involved.

Do I really need to get THREE estimates?

No. There is no law in Kentucky that requires you to do so. Sometimes, insurance agencies ask a claimant to get three estimates so they can work with the least expensive repair facility. If you prefer that your vehicle be repaired at a certain facility, simply let your agent know. In Kentucky, you have the right to take your vehicle to the facility of your choice.

What is a total loss?

A vehicle is a considered “total loss” when the cost of repairs exceeds a pre-determined value for your vehicle. In Kentucky this value is set at 75% of the vehicle’s fair assessed value – commonly called the “book value”.

Will my paint color match?

Yes! We use only Sherwin-Williams automotive finishes in combination with a high-tech computerized color matching system. We enter your vehicle’s paint code and the computer custom mixes the exact match. With certain colors, it is necessary to blend the finish between panels to get a perfect match.

Will my parts be ordered before I drop off my vehicle?

We take pride in trying to make the repair process as painless as possible. Upon scheduling your vehicle for a repair, we will order all known necessary parts so that the parts are available when your vehicle arrives. This ensures no valuable time is wasted by waiting for parts. In some cases, additional parts will be ordered once the car is disassembled due to hidden damage.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, debit/bank cards, checks and cash.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes! We warranty our repairs for as long as you own your vehicle and we stand behind it. Upon delivery, you will receive a lifetime written warranty for the repairs. Ask your customer service representative for details.

Do you have rental cars?

Yes. If your vehicle is non-driveable, we may be able to place you in a vehicle within minutes. If covered by your insurance policy, we can arrange to have a rental car available to you through the Nation’s largest rental car agency—Enterprise.

How long should I wait to wash my vehicle after it is painted?

You may wash you vehicle the same day it is painted, in fact, we clean your vehicle inside-and-out before it is delivered to you. Please avoid using harsh chemical cleaners on the fresh paint. You may polish and wax your vehicle after approximately 90 days.
